Bands of Los Angeles [Part I]

Ok, I’m already cheating a bit, but Dexter was born and played in L.A. Though there are a few, don’t try to find too many “pure” L.A. bands because just like L.A. itself, they contain multitudes, and they reach world-wide. It’s the nature of the beast. And pure is so often a foolish path to take. One that leads to pain and suffering. Best to take the Music road. It can be just as rocky, low, and dangerous, but it can also take you to the highest places…

Vamos!

The poster of this video didn’t cut the original recording so you get a funny pop culture snapshot after the film, including the wannabe fascist geraldo rivera in a clip that couldn’t be a better comment on his contribution to “american culture.” In case that wasn’t enough, you then get the first couple of minutes of a soap opera.

I thought this album was excellent when it came out and I still do. A Real gem. Los Lobos (Del Este De Los Angeles) is the gift that keeps on giving. Love those guys.
